Compiler Error

Charge up your machines, caffeine up your brains, plug into Spotify and get coding! IEEE DTU presents to you, Compiler Error! Comment out your quarantine boredom with 3 exhilarating rounds of programming. So what are you waiting for? Ready your Codeforces handles and get compiling!

DATE: 30th April and 1st May

OverView

1. 3 rounds, namely A, B, C, each with increasing difficulty.
2. Each round would be of 2 hours, making the total running time of the contest to be that of 6 hours.
3. The platform of choice is going to be Codeforces (the rounds would be held in morning-afternoon slot, to allow time for other events, and also to be away from server-overload problems)
4. Scoring-
   • Easy - 100
   • Medium - 300
   • Hard - 500
5. For in-contest rules, standard rules of Codeforces contest would apply.
6. Each round would have it's own top X placeholders.
7. If a person wins in 2 or more rounds, his entry for the hall of placeholders would only be counted ONCE, in such cases the immediate next rank holder who does not meet this criterion would be picked for a placeholder for that particular contest.
8. Results would be displayed on the Facebook page within 2 hours after the contest has ended.
9. Links to the rounds would be given a day before the event starts i.e. on 30th.

Meme Challenge

Funny, irreverent, witty, bold and often ridiculous, memes make a statement. IEEE DTU is organising memes competition & challenging you to use humour and shed light on the subject of current lockdown/college scenario.

1. Participants have to DM their self-made entries as a Drive Link of .jpg file to us on Facebook along with their name, contact number and the Event Name: "Meme Challenge"
2. The memes should preferably be on current lockdown/ college scenario.
3. Only one meme is allowed per participant. Anything more than that will lead to disqualification.
4. The memes would be posted on our Facebook page and the winner would be decided on the basis of their creativity and reactions on their memes in terms of likes and comments.
5. The deadline for sending memes is 1st May’ 2020, 11:59 PM

The judgement will be made based on the how the participant approaches to solve the problem statement and the quality and briefness of documentation.

Participants are requested to submit their models along with a brief PowerPoint Presentation explaining your approach towards the problem.

T-Pose

DATE: 31st April - 1st May [24 hours after theme reveal]

Overview

1. Make a game or animation in Alice 3 on the given themes that would be revealed on the day of the event.
2. Theme to be revealed at 17:00 on 31st on Facebook.
3. Bonus theme to be revealed after 5 hours from initial theme reveal. (Naturally bonus theme carries arbitrary bonus points 😉)
4. Length of Animation - 2 min. (If you value your sanity, choose this please)
5. Length of Game - Just make one, that would be more than enough (Try for scrollers, would make you want to kill yourself less)
6. Points to be given on the basis of effort put in, memeability (or you can somehow make the project serious, then seriousness), overall quality of the project. (Yes, very vague, much bad)
7. Individual entries only. (IEEE DTU does not believe in homicide).
8. Your submission should include your Alice 3 project along with any other resource files, which is to be zipped and uploaded on the drive. The drive's link would be given along with theme reveal. (Yea, no joke statement this time, I am no clown)
9. Highlights of all submissions would be posted on Facebook page after the end of the event. (As if you struggling with a software made for toddlers was not embarrassing enough)
10. Results would be announced within the next 5 hours from deadline.
